Liver and Onions

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces of beef liver
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced into rings
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  1. Rinse the beef liver thoroughly and pat it dry.
  2. Season both sides of the liver with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper.
  3. Coat both sides of the liver with flour.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Sear the liver on both sides until browned, then set aside to keep warm.
  6. Add the sliced onions to the skillet, reduce the heat to medium, and sauté until they soften.
  7. Pour in the beef broth and return the liver to the skillet.
  8. Bring to a low boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for 15 minutes before serving.
